Being my helpful self in EDTC 300… most of the time.

It’s finally time… for my networked learning post from EDTC 300…

This semester, I really focussed on building up my Professional Learning Network (PLN), and that started with my classmates in EDTC 300!

I connected with everyone on Twitter,

Replied to and retweeted my classmate’s Tweets:

Tweeted out resources, articles, and other things using the EDTC300 Hashtag for my classmates to check out:

I also took part in #EDCHATS on Twitter! I used Tweet Deck to help me along the way and connected with SO many educators from outside of the class.

I read blogs from my classmates and commented my thoughts and offered advice:

PSA: Make sure when you are commenting throughout the semester you create a folder for the screenshots of your comments to go into so they do not get lost like mine… I commented on so many posts and thought I was being so on my game by screenshotting AND NOW I CANNOT FIND THEM…

Through comments, I connected with so many people from the class and was able to follow along from beginning to end with their learning projects and journey through EDTC 300.

I watched Sarah Reimer become a Mennonite Cooking Master. I even did my due diligence and tried out several of her delicious baked goods throughout the semester… such a hardship I was faced with!

I followed Madisson Shearer’s journey to becoming a knitting queen. I felt her pride and happiness when she discovered the zippy loom and created her very first scarf! You go, girl!

I watched Melissa Kazymyra kick butt with her HIIT program. Those workouts are no joke, I tried a couple of them and it was NOT easy. Melissa is my idol because she SLAYS those workouts.

At one point or another in the semester, I headed onto the EDTC300 website and checked out all of my classmates learning projects to find inspiration on anything from French and sign language to cooking. Of course, I had to check on my fellow keto-dieter Jessi to see how she was doing!

One of my favorite things this semester was finding places for Laura Bieber and I to connect our blogs. On top of completing some of our required blog posts together, we also saw so many awesome ways to integrate our learning projects! Laura could use her Instant Pot madness to help me create low carb meals for my ketogenic diet- we were a match made in heaven throughout our learning project journey! My life will never be the same after having Instant Pot hardboiled eggs… perfection.

I feel like although a majority of this class was online, I gained so many new connections in the resource world, and being online means that they don’t have to end just because the semester has.

I want to thank everyone for all of the resources shared and the support you all offered me this semester- you are all rock stars! I only hope that I helped you all as much as you helped me.

I hope everyone keeps blogging, Tweeting, and building their PLN’s even though the semester is over.

Have a great summer everyone!

-Julia 🙂

  1. Hi Julia,
I think you did a great job with your blogs this semester, i admire all the work you have put into them. I have never really been a writer and i am very impressed that your blogs came out long but clean. I also felt that your learning project was a neat one to read about. A Keto Diet. I wish i had the self control to be able to so something like that myself, but i may just use some of your recipes like the tortilla shell. I am glad you learned so much and keep it strong for the future.

  2. This final post is awesome! I love that all of your pictures clearly outlined your learning network. It sounds as though you had a successful and fulfilling semester in edtc 300. Your little Public Service Announcement and tips and tricks imbedded within this post is going to be really helpful to those in edtc300 in future semesters, Perhaps you should retweet this post next year so those students have a chance to view and take on these words of advice that you have shared. Thanks for your final post!
